Section 59: Diet of inmates

Inmates shall have diet in aciordance with the following scales and instructions.

Evening meal – Rice 10 ozs

1. Maximum allowance of fuel for all classes is 2 lbs or 908 grams.

2. Variety of dhals may be issued separately as below :

Half the scale of dhal may be issued in the from of toor dhall daily and the other half in the from of green gram or Bengal gram or Halasande or ballar Dhal by rotation. The use of Channangi Dhall or Masur Dhal is prohibited.

(3) Seasonal Vegetables may be issued and leafy vegetables shall be issued to the extent of at least twenty-five per cent. Once a week half the quantity of Vegetables for a day may be issued in the form of potatoes.

(4) Milk shall be used for preparing curds and for issue as butter Milk to be served with the evening meal.

(5) Inmates shall be issued once a week two ounces or 57 grms of coconut oil for hair and 2 ozs or 57 grams of soap for washing clothes.

(6) Inmates shall be provided with hot water bath once a week for which 908 grams of fuel may be issued per inmate.
