Section 85: Application of provisions of this Chapter and Design of Electronic Voting Machines

(1) The provisions of this Chapter shall apply wherever electronic voting machine is used during the conduct of elections to the Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat and Grama Panchayat.

(2) Every electronic voting machine (hereinafter referred to as the voting machine) shall comprise of two units, one a control unit and another a balloting unit and shall be of such designs as may be approved by the State Election Commission.
