(i) These rules may be called the Karnataka State Pyblic Records Rules. 2013,,

2. Definitions, -In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, "Appralsal" means evaluation of Publlc Records in association with the Karnataka State Archtves or the Head of the office as the case may be;
(c) "Classified Records" means the Public Records classified as top secret, secret, confidentialand restricted in accordance with the procedure lald down in the Secretarlat Manual or Manual of Offlice procedure or any other instructions issued by the Karnataka State Governnment from time to time;
"Act" means the Karnataka State Public Records Act, 2010 (Karnataka ..Act 9 of 2011}: .
(d) "Custody" means the possession of Public Records;

(n) "Dèclasst'cation" means downgtade the security classifcations after their evaluation;
17 *Fle" means a collection of papers relattng to the Public Records on a speci� subject matter consisting of corresporidence, notes and appendtx thereto and assighed with a fle number:
"Form" mneans the form appended to these rules;
"General Record Secton means where current/semi current records except D' records, of the Govermment are preserved:
"Member means member of the Board;
"Prtvate Records" means records lying in the possession ,of a prtvate indtvidual or with at1y non-tovermental Organization;
"Recording mears, the,;proçess of clostng a fle after actlon on all issues considered thereon h¡s, bcen completed;
(m) "Records of PermaDent'Ndture means the Publlc Records being preserved and. malntatied forévet after recording for a perlod spectfed, under sub-rule(1)f Tule 5 by the records creating agency In accordance with the.PrÍcedure lald fn its Manual or Ofce Procedure or Instructions on the subjçct;
"Retention SchedtlEDf Records means a schedule which provides the period of retentton;
