Section 18: Realization of cost

The Kerala Irrigation and Water Conervation Rules, 2005State Rules of Kerala · 2003

(1) The Irrigation Officer shall inform the land owner who fails to comply with the notice under sub-section (2) of section 39 the actual cost of the repair by means of a demand notice and direct him-to remit the amount in the office of the Irrigation Officer within 60 days from the date of delivery of the notice.

(2) If the land owner refuses or fails to remit the amount specific in sub-rule (1) within the time stipulated therein, the Irrigation Officer shall report the matter to the Collector to initiate proceedings to realize the cost from such owned in the same manner as if it was an arrear of public revenue due on land.
