Section 60: Purchase price to bear interest

The purchase p1 ice payable shall bear mterest at the rate of 4! per cent per annum from the date on which the nght, title and interest of the landowner and the inter­ mediaries vested m the cultivating tenant. Where the purchase price is paid in instalments, the second and subsequent instalments shall be deposited together with interest on the amount outstanding on the date ( of deposit.

6 I. Cultivatmg tenant to pay rent pending purchase.-Notwithstanding the filing of an application under section 54, a cultivating tenant shall be liable to pay rent to h1s landlord unttl he makes the deposit under sub-section (I) of section 59.
