Section 25: Intentional insult, etc., to the Commission

The Kerala Public Men (Prevention of Corruption) Act, 1983State Act of Kerala · Act 6 of 1984

(1) Whoever intentionally offers any insult, or causes any interruption, to the Commission while they are conducting any 17 investigation under this Act, shall be punishable with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.

(2) Whoever, by words spoken or intended to be read, makes or publishes any statement or does any other act, which is calculated to bring the Commission into disrepute, shall be punishable with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.

(3) The provisions of sub-section (2) of section 199 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974), shall apply in relation to an offence under subsection (1) or sub-section (2) as they apply in relation to an offence referred to in sub-section

(2) of the said section 199, subject to the modification that no complaint in respect of such offence shall be made by the Public Prosecutor except with the previous sanction of the Commission.
