Section 13: Appointment by promotion

(l) There shall be constituted a committee consisting of the members mentioned in Schedule IV for making a preliminary selection for promotion of eligible candidates.

(2)TheCommitteeshallmeet at iI)tervalsordinarilynot exceedingoneyear.

(3) 16 per cent and 20 per cent of the available of the vacancies for promotion in such posts in which the percentage ofpromotion is 33 1/3 per cent or more as specifiedin Schedule II shall be reserved for the candidates .belongingto Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes respectivelywho are .. eligiblefor promotion:in-accordancewith':'the-provisionsofrule -14-. ----------- -- ---

(4)The procedure formaking promotion to the reserved vacancies shall be in accordance with the instructions issued by Government in the General Administration Department from time to time.
