[8. Penalty for contravention by company.- If the company, without reasonable excuse, the burden of proving which penalty of contravention by company shall lie on the company, contravenes any of the provisions of this Act, it shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to Rs. 1,000 and, in the case of a continuing contravention, with an additional fine which may extend to Rs. 50 for every day during which such contravention continues after conviction for the first such contravention.]
