Section 111: Procedure for posting directions and public notices.

(1) All general directions, regulation, and public notices issued under this Chapter shall be published by posting notices in the office of the District Magistrate of the local area as well as in the locality affected, by affixing copies in conspicuous places near the building or place to which the notice specially relates, or by announcing it by the beating of drum or by advertising in local newspapers and other media, or by any other means as the Superintendent of Police may deem fit: Provided that the Superintendent of Police may, on being satisfied that it is in public interest to bring any regulation into force with immediate effect, make such direction or regulation without previous publication. (2) If any direction or regulation made under this section relates to any matter with respect to which there is a provision in any law, rule or by law of the Corporation or of any other Municipal or Local Authority in relation to public health, convenience or safety of the locality, such regulation shall be subject to such law, rule or by law.
