Section 112: Prosecution of police officers.

(1) No court shall take cognizance of any offence under this Act when the accused person is a police officer except with the previous sanction of an officer authorized by the State Government in this behalf. (2) No court shall take cognizance of any offence against the members of ACB/CID and Special Branch alleged to have been committed in course of performance of his duty in conducting trap/covert operation, in the interest of maintenance of Public order, internal and national security except with the previous sanction of the State Government.
