Section 88: Interference with the functioning of the Accountability Commission.

Whoever influences or interferes with the functioning of the Accountability Commission, except in the course of lawful duty, shall, on conviction by a court of law, be liable to a fine upto Rs. 10,000/- or to an imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or both. Explanation: Any threat, coercion or inducement offered to any witness or victim of police misconduct or serious misconduct, shall be deemed to be interference with the functioning of the Accountability Commission for the purpose of this Section.
