(i) The Act may be called the North East Christian UniversityAct 2012.
(ii) It shall come into force on the date appointed by the State Government by notifcation in the Office Gazette.
Definitions
2. In this Act unless the context othenviserequires, the following words shall have the meaning assigned herein
(1) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University;
(2) "Board Of Studies" means the Board of Studies constituted under this Act;
(3) "ChanceIIor" means the Chancellor or the University;
(4) "Director" means a Director of University,
(5) "Executive Council" means Executive Council of the University
(6) "Finance Committee" means F i c e Committee of the University
(7) "Finance Officer" means Finance Office of the University
(8) "Fund"meansthe Funds oftheUniversity and includes funds fora sponsored scheme.
(9) "Governing Council" means the Governing Council ofthe University;
(10) "Governor" meansthe Governor ofNagaland;
(11) "Notification" means notification published in the Official Gazette ofthe Government ofNagaland;
(12) "Pro-Chancellor" means the Pro-Chancellor of the University;
(13) "Registrar" means the Registrar of the University;
(1 4) "Regulation" means a regulation made under this Act;
(15) "Schedule" means aschedule ofthis Act;
(16) "State Government" means the State Government ofNagaland;
(1 7) "UGC" means University Grants Commission constituted under the Umversity Grants CommissionGrant,Act, 1956 (1 8) "University" means the Private University by the name "The North East Christian University" establishment under this Act.
(1 9) "Vice ChanceUor" means the Vice Chancellor of the Umversity;
(20) " The Visitor" means the Visitor ofthe University;
