(1) The %ce Chancellor shall be responsible for the maintenance of discipline in the University and his order in this regard shall be carried out by the officer and authority of the University.
(2) ~ohvithstandin~ anything in sub-section the punishment of debarring a s t u d e n t ~ m a n ~ t i o n o f t h e U n i v m i ~ orrusticafinghimfiomtheUniversity - or hostel or aninstitutionof the University or any other punishment of suchserious nature, shall be imposed only by the Executive Council on receipt of a report from the %ce Chancellor.
Provided that the Executive Council shall impose such a punishment only after giving the student concerneda reasonable opportunity of being heard.
Award of Certificate, Diplomas and Degree ete
10. A Certificate. Di~lomaor a Deeree or any other academic distinction shall be , . - granted to or conferred upon, a student only after he has undergone therelevant of study for the duration prescribedthereof and passed the same with the qualifjmg mark prescribed thereof by the regulations.
Award of Honorary Degrees
11. The University shall have the power to confer an honorary degree of academic distinction upon any person for his attainment and position, if the Government Council approves by majority a recommendation of the Academic Council passed by two thirds of the relationmembership ofthe Academic Council doing SO.
Withdrawal of Certificate Diploma etc.
12. The Governing and Academic Council shall have the power to withdraw a Certificate or Diploma or aDegree or any other academic distinction including an honorary degree academic distinction granted to, or conferred upon a student or an eminent person, for good and sufficient reason to be enumerated in the regulations. The Council shall follow the same procedure follow for awarding honorary degrees.
