Section 20: Removal of the name of a student from a programme

(1) The name of a student may automatically be removed from the rolls of the University if, –

(a) the student fails to fulfil the Cumulative Grade Point Average requirements as specified in sub-ordinance (11) of Ordinance 15; or

(b) the student has exhausted the total maximum number of years for the Master’s programme without fulfilling the minimum essential requirements for the degree.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in these Ordinances, the Academic Council may, in exceptional circumstances, similar to the ones mentioned in sub-ordinance (6) (a) of Ordinance 15, and on the recommendation of the Board of Studies of a School, as well as on the merits of each individual case, consider relaxation of any of the provisions for reasons to be recorded in writing.

(3) No candidate shall be eligible to register for any programme or course of study at University if he or she has already registered for any other full-time programme at the University or any other University.

(4) If the student is found to have concealed the fact specified in sub-ordinance (3) while getting himself or herself enrolled for a programme at University, his or her name shall be struck off from the rolls.
