(a) the competent authority is satisfied that there is reasonable prospect of the officer or employee returning to duty on the expiry ofleave;

(b) leave not due shall be limited to th'e quantum ofhalf: pay leave that the ,- ' employee is likely to earn after the grant ofleave under thisregulation ‘shall be debited to the half pay leave account ofthe officer or employee;-
(c) leave'not ,due during the entire service shall be limited to a maximum of three hundred and sixty days out of which not more than, ninety days may be granted at a time and one 'hundred and eighty daysmay be‘granted otherwise than on production of a medical certificate.

(2) Leave not due may be blamed for a period not exceeding three hundred and sixty ..
days during eitire sewice of a temporary olllcer or employee who is sufiering.trom tuberculosis leprosy cancer or mental illness subject to the fulfillment of condition in clauses (a) and (b) ot sub--regttlation (l) and also subject to the tollowing lurther conditions, namely:-
(i) that the officer or employee has put in a minimum of one year of service with the Authority;

(3) (a) Where an ofiicer or employee who has been granted leave not due resigns from service or is .at his request permitted to retire voluntarily without returning to duty. the Ileaw: not due shall be cancelled his resignation or retirement takinu eflect from the date on which such‘.eave had commenced and the leate salary. it any. already paid to him tor such leave shall be be reco\e.red
(b) Where an ollicer or employee \\ ho having availed himself of leave not due. returns to duty but resigns or retires from seIVice before he has earned s'uch leave. he shall be liable to refund the leave salary to the extent the leave has not beenearned subsequently:
Provided that no leave salary shall be recovered under clause (a) or clause (b). if the retriement is by reason of ill»ltealth incapacitating an otficer or employee for;
further service or in the event ot‘his death, ll. Extra-ordinary leave:— (1) An oflicct' of employee may be granted extraordinary leave without pay and allowances when no other leave is due to him.
(2) . Extra-ordinary leaveshall not be granted for more than three hundred and sixty days during' the entire period of service and not more than ninety days at a time and such leave shall not couht for increment. v
