Section 8: Sick leave

National Highways Authority of India ( Leave ) Regulations, 1997Central Regulations · 1988

(1) An officer or employee shallibe entitled to twenty days of sick-leave on half pay on production of medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner on completion of twelve months of actual duty subject to a maximum ,of 450 days during the ‘ full period of his service.

(2) The half pay leave may be granted on full pay subject to a maximum of two hundred and ten days and the sick leave account shall be debited with twice the amo'untot‘ leave taken by an officer or employee ‘ .9. Maternity leave:»(l) Every female officer or employee shall be entitled to one hundred and twenty days of maternity leave on full pay on each' occasion of pregnancy subject to a maximum of two hundred and forty days during 'the entireperiodv‘oftther seniicei , -' > .‘ t '

(2)_ Maternity leave not exceeding forty-two days may also be granted to a female officer or employee in cases of miscarriages including abortion on a certificate the attending medical officer. - t

(3) Maternity leave shall not be debitable'to the leave account.
