Section 45: Composition of offences

The Odisha Irrigation Act, 1959.State Act of Odisha · Act 14 of 1959

(1) Any Irrigation Officer may accept from any person, against whom a reasonable belief exists that he has committed an offence punishable under this Act, or the rules made there under, a sum of money not exceeding two hundred rupees, by way of composition for such offence.

(2) On payment of such sum of money, the said person if in custody, shall be discharged, and no further proceedings shall be taken against him in regard to the offence so compounded.

(3) Rules may be made under this Act regulating the procedure to be adopted in compounding an offence.
