Section 111: Prosecution of police officers

Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003State Act of Odisha · Act 8 of 2007

(1) No Court shall take cognizance of any offence under this Act when the accused person or anyone of the accused persons is a police officer, except on a report in writing of the facts constituting such offence by, or with the previous sanction of, an officer authorised by the Government in this behalf.

(2) No Court below that of a Magistrate of the first class shall try any offence under this Act when the accused person or anyone of the accused persons is a police officer.
