Section 95: Resignation incase of election from more than one constituency

The Punjab Municipal Election Rules, 1994State Act of Punjab · Act 19 of 1994

(1) Where a candidate has been elected from more than one constituency, he may resign from membership of the municipality from all but one constituency within a period of fifteen days from the date of notification 5(of his elections results] in the Official Gazette:

(2) The resignations shall be addressed in writing to the Commission and Secretary to Government, Punjab, Department of local Government, so as to reach within the time specified in sub rule (I).

(5) In the event of failure of a candidate who has been elected from more than one constituency to comply with the provisions of sub-rules (1) and (2) he shall be deemed to have resigned his membership of the municipality from all the constituencies from which he had been elected.
