The Punjab Police Act, 2007State Act of Punjab · Act 10 of 2008

(1) The State Government shall, —

(a) in consultation with the 1[State Security Commission], established under section 27, draw up a Strategic Policing Plan for a period of five-years (hereinafter referred to as the "Strategic Plan"), duly identifying the objectives of policing, sought to be achieved during the said period and setting out an action plan for their implementation;

(b) in consultation with 10[State Security Commission], draw Annual Policing Plan prioritising the goals of Strategic Plan;

(c) place before the State Legislature, within a period of six months of the coming into force of this Act, the Strategic Plan. Subsequent Strategic Plans shall, be placed before the State Legislature every three years; and

(d) place before the State Legislature, at the beginning of each financial year, a Progress Report on the implementation of the Strategic Plan as well as an Annual Policing Plan.

(2) The Strategic Policing Plan and the Annual Policing Plan shall be prepared after receiving inputs on the policing needs of the 1Substituted for words “State Police Board” by Punjab Act No. 19 of 2018, Section 2 Strategic and annual plans.
