The Punjab Police Act, 2007State Act of Punjab · Act 10 of 2008

(1) The following shall be the responsibilities of the Director General of Police, namely: -

(a) to enforce the policies and other action plans, approved by the State Government; and

(b) to administer, control and supervise the police service to ensure its efficiency, effectiveness, responsiveness and accountability.

(2) The Director General of Police, with the approval of the State Government, may outsource any of the functions of the police in order to improve efficiency in the functioning of the police subject to rules framed under this Act.
