Section 18: Salary and allorvances and conditions of service of teachers

(l) 'l'he state covernrnent or the l-ocal Authority, as the case inay be, sliall prescribe the tenrrs and conditions of service, salary and allowances of the teachers in order to create a professionai cadre of teachers,

(2) ln particular and without prejudice to the generality of sub-rule ( l), the terms and conditions of service shall take into accounr the following factors, namely:-

(a) accountability of teachers to the School lllanagement Committee, constituted under section 2l; and

(b) provisions enabling long ternr stakc r:f'lcaclrcrs in the ieaching prof cssion.

(3) Any non-compliancc of the prcvisions olclause (a) of'sutr-rule (2), shall invitc necessary disciplinary action as pcr provisions ol'the relevant rulcs.
