Section 5: Power of Government to extend the provision of Act

The Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958State Act of Punjab · Act 15 of 1958

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 3 or section 4, Government may by notification declare that any class of establishments or persons specified therein shall not be exempt from the operation of such provisions of this Act as may be specified in the notification and that provisions of this Act specified such notification shall apply to such class of establishments or persons as the case may be.

(2) Every notification made under sub-section (1) shall as soon as possible after it is made, be laid before the both Houses of the State Legislature.
