For the purpose of any inquiry held under clause (b) of subsection (1) of section 36, the Board or the Committee, as the case may be, shall exercise the powers of a Commissioner appointed under the Public Servants (Inquiries) Act, 1850, of the Central Legislature and the provisions of sections 5, 8 to 10, 14 to 16, 19 and 20 of the said Act shall, so far as may be, apply to every such inquiry, to any order passed during the course thereof and to any appeal from such order.
