Section 3: Constitution of the Jail Band

The Jail band consisting of Brass and of pipe instruments may be maintained at the Head-quarters of the Jail. The personnel of the band will drawn from the convicts with good conduct and confidence. Undertrial prisoners can also be employed on their request provided they can be relied upon. The band will be escorted by a suitable guard in plain clothes.

Band will normally consist of not more than 5 convict officers and 50 convicts. The Band Master will be designated as Band Major and pipe Major respectively.
