(1) Subject to the Provisions o f this Act or Statutes made thereunder, the Ordinances may provide for all or any o f the following matters, namely :-
(a) The adm ission o f students to the University and their enrolm ent as such;
(b)The courses o f study to be laid down for the degrees, diplomas and certificates o f the University;
(c)T he award o f the degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions, the minimum qualifications for the same and the measures to be taken relating to the granting and obtaining o f the same;
(d)The conditions for award o f fellowships, scholarships, stipends, medals and prizes;
(e) The conduct o f examinations, including the terms o f office and m anner o f appointm ent and the duties o f exam ining bodies, examiners and moderators;
(f) Fees to be charged for the courses, examinations, degrees and diplomas o f the University;
(g)The conditions o f residence o f the students o f the University;
(h) Provision regarding disciplinary action against the students;
(i) The creation, composition and functions o f any other body which is considered necessary for improving the academic life o f the University;
(j) The m anner o f co-operation and collaboration w ith other Universities and Institutions o f higher education; and
(k)A ll other matters which by this Act or Statutes made thereunder are required to be provided by the Ordinances.
(2) The Ordinances o f the University shall be m ade by the Academic Council which after being approved by the Board o f M anagem en t, shall be submitted to the State Government for its approval.
(3) The State Government shall consider the Ordinances submitted under submitted under sub-section(2) w ithin two months from the date o f their 16 receipt and shall either approve them or give suggestions for modifications therein.
(4) The Academ ic Council shall either modify the Ordinances incorporating the suggestion o f the State Government or give reasons for not incorporating any o f the suggestions made by the State Government and shall return the Ordinances alongwith such reasons, if any , to the State Governm ent and on receipt o f the same , the State Government shall consider the comments o f the Academ ic Council and shall approve the Ordinances o f the University with or w ithout such modifications.
