Travelling and daily allowance to Patwaris will be regulated by rule 14, read with Appendix I to the Travelling Allowance Rules, Visits to the tehsil headquarters on duty, including attendance at tehsil headquarters in accordance with paragraph 23. will be treated as travelling beyond jurisdiction under a proper authority within the meaning of rule 14 of the Travelling Allowance Rules.

12. Obligation of [office and residence.] - (i) Patwari shall reside within his circle in the village specified by the Collector to be his headquarter unless he has obtained a written permission from the Collector to reside outside his circle. [***].

[(ii) A government building shall be provided to the Patwari at his posting place for the purpose of his office (Patwar Ghar). In case the government building is not available for his office (Patwar Ghar), rented building shall be arranged. The rent of such building shall be determined by the State Government.

(iii) A government building shall be provided to the Patwari at his posting place for the purpose of his residence. In case the government building is not available for his residence, he shall be entitled to get house rent allowance in accordance with the prevailing rules.
