Section 239: Conviction of an under trial prisoner

(1) When an under trial prisoner is convicted, the officer in charge of under trial prisoners shall hand over all connected papers and records together with cash and private property, if any, to the officer in charge of admission of the convicted prisoners who shall attend to the usual routine in this respect.

(2) On conviction, an under-trial prisoner shall be transferred to the yard meant for newly admitted convicts.
