Section 25: Inspection of jails

The Rajasthan Prisons Rules, 2022State Rules of Rajasthan · 1894

(1) The Head of Directorate of Prisons shall inspect or got inspected by officers subordinate to him every jail at least once a year and oftener, if necessary.

(2) During each inspection, inspecting officer shall see every prisoner in the jail and give every prisoner the opportunity of making any application or complaint he may wish to make and shall enquire into and decide such matters which relate to jail discipline and shall also satisfy himself that all accounts, registers and records are maintained according to the rules in force and that proper arrangements are made for the safe custody of all records.
