Section 278: Children of women prisoners

The Rajasthan Prisons Rules, 2022State Rules of Rajasthan · 1894

(1) A child up to six years of age shall be admitted to prison with his mother if no other arrangements for keeping him with relatives or otherwise, can be made.

(2) Children born in prison may remain with their mothers up to six years of age, if they cannot otherwise be suitably placed.

(3) The Medical Officer shall determine the age of children not born in prison for the purpose of this provision.
