Section 718: Parole

(1) Parole to inmates are progressive measures of correctional services.

(2) The release of a prisoner on parole not only saves him from the evils of incarceration but also enables him to maintain social relations with his family and the community, it also helps him to maintain and develop a sense of self-confidence and continued contacts with family and the community sustain in him a hope for life.

(3) The provisions for grant of parole should be liberalised to help a prisoner maintain a harmonious relationship with his family.

(4) The privilege of parole should, of course, be allowed to selective prisoners on the basis of well-defined norms of eligibility and propriety.

(5) The release of a prisoner on parole shall be governed by the Rajasthan Prisoners Release on Parole Rules, 2021, as amended from time to time.
