(1) No employee who has been in continuous employment of an employer for a period of not less than 6 months shall leave the service of such employer without giving him one month's notice in writing. (2) Where an employee contravenes the provision of sub-section (1), his employer may forfeit his unpaid wages for a period not exceeding one month or for the number of days by which the notice falls short of one month or he may apply to the prescribed authority appointed under Section 28-A for awarding suitable money compensation against such an employee.
