Section 19: The Research Council

The Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Act, 2010State Act of Rajasthan · Act 13 of 2010

(1) There shall be a Research Council consisting of the following members, namely:-

(i) the Vice-Chancellor – Chairperson;

(ii) the Managing Director of Rajasthan Co-operative Dairy Federation;

(iii) the Director of Animal Husbandry;

(iv) the Director of Fisheries;

(v) the Director of Extension Education;

(vi) all Deans of the constituent colleges;

(vii) all Directors of the University;

(viii) all Heads of Departments;

(ix) all In-charges, by whatever name called, of Livestock Research Stations;

(x) all Principal Investigators, by whatever name called, of research schemes and projects; and

(xi) the Research Council may co-opt as members not more than four persons including two progressive livestock and fisheries farmer for such period and in such manner as may be prescribed so as to secure adequate representation of different sectors of veterinary and animal sciences and allied fields.

(2) The Director of Research shall be the ex-officio Member-Secretary of the Research Council.

(3) The Research Council shall consider and make recommendations in respect of-

(i) research programmes and projects undertaken or to be undertaken by the various University scientists in the field of veterinary and animal sciences and their monitoring and evaluation;

(ii) physical, fiscal and administrative facilities required for implementing research projects;

(iii) orienting research to meet farmers and other stake holder’s needs;

(iv) fostering and coordinating Public-Private Partnership in research; and

(v) any other matter pertaining to research programmes which may be referred to by the Vice-Chancellor or the Board or any other authority of the University.
