Section 12: Competent authority and arbitrator to have oertain powers of civil courts

The competent authority and the arbitrator appointed under soction 8, while holding an inquiry or, as the case may be, arbitration proceedings under this Ordinance, shall have all the powers of a civil court, while trying a suit, under the Codo of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Aot V of 1908) in rospi'ot of the following matters, namely :—
(a) summoning and enforoing the attendance of any person and examining hi™ on.oath ;
(6) requiring the discovery and production of any dooumont;
(c) reception of evidence on affidavits ;
(d) requisitioning any publio record from any court or office ;
(e) issuing commissions for examination of witnesses.
