(1) A unit certificate issued under the 102 [collective investment scheme] shall be freely transferable.
(2) The Collective Investment Management Company shall, on production ofinstrument of transfer together with relevant unit certificates, register thetransfer and return the unit certificate to the transferee within thirty days fromthe date of such production.
Provided that if the units are held in a depository such units shall betransferable in accordance with the provisions of the Securities and ExchangeBoard of India (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 1996 and the byelawsof the depository.
