Section 178: Safety Belt and its use

Tamil Nadu Building And Other Construction Workers (Regulation Of Employment And Conditions Of Service) Rules,2006State Rules of Tamil Nadu · 1996

The employer shall ensure at a construction site of a building or other construction work that,-

(a) safety belt, life lines and devices for the attachment of such life line conform to the relevant national standards;

(b) every building worker is supplied with safety belt and safety life lines for his protection and such building worker uses such bells and life lines during the performance of his work:

(c) all building workers using safety belts and safety life lines have the knowledge of safe use and maintenance of such belts and life lines and are supplied with necessary instructions; and

(d) the responsible person for supervising the use of safety belts and safety life lines referred to in clause (b) inspects and ensures that such safety belts and life lines are fit for use before taking into use at every time.
