Section 5: Competent authority.

The Tamil Nadu Educational Development Day (Declaration and Celebration) Act, 2006State Act of Tamil Nadu · Act 26 of 2006

(1) The Government may, by notification, appoint any officer of the Education Department not below the rank of District-Educational Officer to be the competent authority for the purposes of carrying out the provisions of this Act and different competent authorities may be appointed for different areas. (2) The competent authority shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as may be prescribed.
