Section 14: Presentation of Nomination paper

(1) Any person may be nominated as a candidate for the office of the member of Territorial Constituency or President of Water Users Association as the case may be, if he is qualified to hold the office, under the provisions of the Act.

(2) Every nomination form shall be in Form- 5 which can be obtained from the Returning Officer concerned.

The nomination forms duly filled up and signed by the candidate shall be presented at the appointed date and time, by the candidate himself or by his proposer to the Returning Officer.

(3) A candidate for the election of member of Territorial Constituency or President of a Water Users Association and his proposer shall be the persons, whose names are borne on the electoral roll relating to the Territorial Constituency or the Water Users Association as the case may be.

(4) On receiving the nomination form, they shall be numbered serially in the order in which it is presented and a receipt in Form-6 shall be given as a token of receiving the nomination form.
