Section 69: Election procedure

Tamil Nadu Farmers' Management of Irrigation Systems Election Rules, 2003State Rules of Tamil Nadu · 2001

(1) For the election of the members of the Distributory Committee, the procedure detailed in this chapter for the election of the President of the Distributory Committee shall mutatis mutandis be followed in the same sequence, subject to the condition that the candidate elected as President of the Distributory Committee shall not be eligible to contest for the office of the members of Distributory Committee, but he is eligible to participate in the election of members.

(2) The ballot papers shall be prepared containing the names of the contesting candidates in alphabetical order in Form-15.

(3) No election is necessary if the total number of validly nominated candidates is equal to or less than the number of vacancies and all of them shall be declared elected as members of the Managing Committee. Election shall be conducted if the number of validly nominated candidates exceeds the number of vacancies.
