Section 5: Claim of Rental Charges by Former Members

(1) Every Former Member who attended the celebration and was not accommodated due to non-availability of room shall prefer a claim in Form-I appended to these Rules within two months to the offi ce of the Secretary.

(2) All claims for rental charges preferred by Former Members after the expiry of two months from the date of it becoming due shall be regarded as time-barred and such claims shall be rejected summarily.

(3) The Secretary or the Authorised Offi cer shall be the authority competent to make the payment of rental charges to the Former Members.

(4) On receipt of the claim from a Former Member under sub-rule (1), a bill for payment for such claim shall be prepared in Form-ll appended to these Rules, scrutinized and passed for payment by the Secretary or the Authorised Offi cer.

(5) Rental Charges payable to Former Member will be credited to his bank account in which his monthly pension is credited.

(6) In the event of the death of a Former Member after claiming the rental charges within the stipulated period, the undisbursed amount of rental charges, if any, shall be credited to the bank account of his legal heir in which family pension is credited, after recovering the dues, if any, to the Legislative Assembly Secretariat or to the Government.

(7) The Former Member or in the event of the death of a Former Member after claiming the rental charges within the stipulated period, his legal heir, shall furnish an advance receipt in duplicate for the receipt of the payment of rental charges in Form-lll appended to these Rules.
