Section 2: Definitions

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, -

(a) “Act” means the Motor Transport Worker’s Act, 1961 (Central Act 27 of 1961);

(b) “Form” means a Form appended to these rules;

(c) “Inspector” means an Inspector appointed under section 4 and includes the Chief Inspector;

(d) “Section” means a section of the Act;

(e) “Undertaking” means motor transport undertaking;

(f) “Unit” means a branch office of the undertaking and includes the place or the premises where a motor transport vehicle belonging to the undertaking halts;

(g) “Year” means the calendar year.
