Section 10: Documents as proof of age for admission

Tamil Nadu Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011State Rules of Tamil Nadu · 2009

In cases where the parent or guardian of the child is unable to produce the birth certificate of the child issued under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Act, 1886 (Central Act VI of 1886), any one of the following documents shall be deemed to be proof of age of the child for the purpose of admission in a school:-

(a) Hospital or Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) register record;

(b) Anganwadi record;

(c) Declaration of the age of the child by the parent or guardian.
