The Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019State Act of Telangana · Act 11 of 2019

(1) Every person who is elected as a member shall, before taking his seat, make and subscribe at a meeting of the Municipality an oath or affirmation of his allegiance to the Constitution of India, before such authority and in such form as prescribed by the Government.

(2) Where a member fails to take the oath or affirmation prescribed in sub-section (1) within three months of the date on which his term of office commences, or at one of the first three meetings held from the said date whichever is later, ceases to hold his office and his seat shall be deemed to have become vacant.
