31. Any income received in the Public Works. Irrigation or the Local Self-Government Engincering Departments on behalf of the Parishad or Kshettra Samiti shall be sent to the treasury or bank to be credited to the Zila Nidhi or Kshettra Nidhi, as the ‘case may be, and shall be acc o i by a Chalan prescribed in the U. P. Zila Parishads and Kshettra Samitis (Budget and General Accounts) Rules, 1965.

(b) progress of expenditure against the amount paid by the l’nnshkad or Kshettra Samiti to the said department for the exccution of works.

53, (1) ANl expenditure on the works undertaken 1 Parishad or a Kshewwra Samiti shall be recorded in the register of works Form no. W6 qment is made. Form no W-6 t exceed Rs.10,000 and all maintenance and repair works. Form no. W.6- | be used for works the estimated cost of which exceeds Rs.10,000 for which a detaild sub-headwise account shall be maintained. These registers shall ‘he kept separately for cach department. In casc of deparyments in which the number of works is small. separate costs of pages may be allotted to each deparunent in the samie register.

(2) The entire expenditire pertaining to each work shall be shown at onc place i d of being seattered over_ different pages of the register.

(3) “ I amy work is not completed or its account not finally settled during a year, the totals shall be carried over td the next “yem's register and cross references given.

(4) Entrics in columns 1 1o 5 of the register of works shall bec made as soon as the estimate for each work is sanctioned by competent authority.

Notes—1. Estimate in the rule includes to allotment made for petty works referred to in rule 7, in which case detailed estimates are not required as.a small amount is sanctioned for each work. .

2. In the case of road repairs the length of road to be repaired should invariably be given in column 2 of the register and the length of the road actually repaired noted in the ‘Remarks’ column.

3. At the time of posting of bills in the works register a cross reference of the page of -the register shall be noted on the bill. )

34. To facilitate the preparation of estimates and the checking of bills, as schedule of rates, duly sanctioned by the Parishad or Kshettra Samiti, as the case may be, for cach kind of work commonly cxccuted, shall be kept in the Parishad or Kshettra Samiti Office. No alterations in this schedule shall be permissible except by a resolution of a Parishad or a Kshettra Samiti, as the case may be. .
