Section 4: Assistant Returning Officers

Uttar Pradesh District Panchayat (Election of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson and Settlement of Election Disputes) Rules, 1994State Rules of Uttar Pradesh · 1961

(1) The Returning Officer may appoint one or more persons as Assistant Returning Officer to assist him in the performance of his functions under these rules.

(2) Every Assistant Returning Officer shall be competent to perform all or any of the functions of the Returning Officer.

(3) The Returning Officer may take such assistance from the officers and servants of the Zila Panchayat for conducting election as he may deem necessary.

(4) The Returning Officers and Assistant Rfeturning Officers shall perform their functions under the superintendence, direction and control of the State Election Commission.
