Every ballot box shall be placed for.the receipt of ballot papers in the view of the Matdan Adhyaksha, the contesting candidates and their Abhikartas.
33. Identification of -electors—(1) The Matdan Adhyaksha may employ at the polling place persons as he thinks fit to help in the identification of the electors or to assist him otherwise in taking the poll.
(2) As each elector enters the polling place the Matdan Adhyaksha or the Matdan Adhikari authorised by him in this behalf shall check the electors, name and other particulars with the relevant entry in the electoral roll and then call out the serial number, name and other particulars of the elector.
(3) Any contesting candidate or his Abhikarta nay challenge the identity of a - person claiming to be a particular elector and where such challenge is made, the Matdan Adhyakshz shall hold a summary enquiry into the challenge and may for the purpose require the challenger to adduce evidence in proof of the chal- Jlenge and the person challenged to adduce evidence in proof of his identity.
* (@) If after such enquiry the Matdan Adhyaksha is of the opinion that the challenge has not been established, he shall allow the person challenged to vote.

34. Issuc of ballot papers to electors—(1) After the identity of a voter has been established a ballot paper shall be issued to him. .
(2) At the time of issuing any ballot paper to an elector the Matdan Adhyaksha shall record, in such manner as the State Election Commission may direct, the serial number thereof against the entry relating to the elector in a copy of the electoral roll set apart for the purpose (hereinafter in these rules referred to as the "marked copy" of the electoral roll). v ’
35. Maintenance of secrecy of voting by electors within poling station and voting procedure—(1) Every elector ta whom a ballot paper has been issued under Rule 34 or under any other provision of these rules, shall maintain secrecy -of voting within the polling station and for that purpose observe the voting procedure hereinafter Jaid down.
(2) The elector on receiving the ballot paper shall forthwith=
(a) Proceed to one of the voting compartments;
(b) there make on the ballot paper with the instrument supplied for the purpose on or near the symbol of the candidate for.whom he intends to vote; .
(c) fold the ballot paper so as to conceal his vofe;
(d) if required, show to the Matdan Adhyaksha the distinguishifig mark on the ballot proper;
(e) insert the folded ballot paper into the ballot box; and;
(f) quit the poling place.
(3) Every elector shall vote without undue delay.
(4) No elector shall be allowed to enter a voting compartment when another elector is inside it.
(5) If an elector to whom ballet paper has been issued, refuses, warning to observation the procedure as laid down in Sub-rule. (2), the ballot paper issued to him shall, whether he has recorded his from him by the Matdan Adhyaksha or the vote thereon or not, be taken back Matdan Adhikari under the directions of the Matdan Adhyaksha.
(6) After the ballot paper has been laken back, the Matdan Adhyaksha shall record on its. back the words "Cancelled: voting procedure violated”, and put signature below these words.
(7) All the ballot papers ‘on which the words "Cancelled: voting procedure violated" are recorded, shall be kept in a separaté.cover which shall bear on its face the words "ballot papers: vg&iqg pmcgdil@;é&ifilé‘fed." ;
(8) Without prejudice to any other peb"a"llyvto which an elector, from whom a ballot paper has been taken back under. Sub-rule (5), may be liable, the vote, if any, recorded on such ballot paper shall not be counted. 5%
