Section 550: Penalty for breach of rules, byelaws or regulations

550. In making rules, bye-laws or regulations, the [Corporation] or the Executive Committee, or the State Government, as the case may be may provide that for any breach thereof the offender shall on conviction,-
(a) be punished with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, and in the case of a continuing breach with fine which may extend to twenty rupees for every day during which the breach continues, after conviction for first breach ;
(b) be punished with fine which may extend to twenty rupees for every day during which the breach continues, after receipt of written notice from the [Municipal Commissioner] or nay [Corporation] officer duly authorized in that behalf to discontinue the breach ;
(c) in addition to the imposition of such fine be required to remedy the mischief so far as lies, in his power.
