Section 86: Expenses of election

86. (1) All expenditure incurred in connexion with the preparation and revision of electoral rolls for a City and the conduct of all elections under this Act in respect of that City shall except as otherwise directed by the State Government be charged to and be realizable from the [Corporation] to the extent and in the manner laid down by the State Government.

(2) The Nirvachan Adhikari (Returning Officer) or any officer charged with the duty of conducting any election may require the 4Corporation to advance such sum as may be necessary for the conduct of that election and the [Corporation] shall thereupon make that sum available to the Nirvachan Adhikari (Returning Officer) or other officer concerned.
