Section 6: Powers of District Magistrate

The District Magistrate ma i any officer or employee of any offices of the State Gogésmmmt 0}; m authority and the teachers of basic schools situate in the district to perform any of the duties in connection with the purposes of these rules, and may also appoint any of them as Enumerator, Supervisor, Block Officer or Zonal Officer.

7. Duties of Enumerator and Supervisor—(1) The territorial area of a Kshettra Panchayat shall be divided into such number of smaller areas, to be known as circles, as may be expedient and every such circle shall be placed under the charge of a Supervisor who shall be responsible for the proper execution of the work by the Enumerators for the areas comprised within the drcle, and shall also compile a list on the basis of the list prepared by such Enumerators,

(2) Every circle referred to in sub-rule (1) shall be further divided into smaller areas comprising a revenue village or part thereof and for every suc_h area there shall be an Enumerator who shall perform the work referred to in sub-ruleg (2) and (3) of Rule 3.

(3) The lists compiled under sub-rule (2) shall be sent to the Distriy Magistrate by the Block Officer.

9. Duties of Zonal Officer—(1) The territorial area of two or more Kshettra Panchayats may be specified as Zone by the District Magistrate and every such Zone shall be placed under the charge of a Zonal Officer.

(2) The Zonal Officer shall ensure that the lists referred to in Rules 4 and 8 pertaining to his Zone are prepared and compiled correctly within such period as may be specified by the District Magistrate in this behalf.
