Section 24: Death of candidate before poll

If a candidate whose nominaon has been found valid on scruny and who has not withdrawn his candidate dies and a report of his death is received before the publicaon of list of contesng candidates or if a contesng candidate dies and a report of his death is received before the commencement of the poll, the Returning Ocer shall upon being sased of the fact of the death of the candidate,countermandthepollandreporhefacotheDistrictEleconOcerandtheDirectorofElecon s and all proceedings with reference to the elecons shall be commenced anew in all respects as if for a new elecon :

Provided that no further nominaon shall be necessary in the case of a person who was a contesng candidate at the me of the countermanding of the poll:

Provided further that no person who has given a noce of withdrawal of his candidature before the countermanding of the poll shall be ineligible for being nominated as a candidate for the elecon aer such countermanding.
